The Festivities
While the Homecoming celebration has taken many shapes over the years, it has always extended beyond the football game and the Homecoming Court. Much as the game had moved between campus and the Astrodome, the Homecoming parade moved between downtown Houston and the UH main campus. For many years, a bonfire was a major part of the weekend, and other festivities have included a barbeque, the Homecoming dance, a tea reception, the Beauty Bowl, and "Strut your Stuff." University milestones such as the investiture of Dr. Khator have also taken place around Homecoming weekend.
