The Exhibition

Each installation associated with WINTER CELEBRATIONS utilized photos, videos, audio interviews and objects to evoke the vibrant, encompassing and participatory character of these community-based events. Honoring Houston’s African American Trailriders attempted to capture the quality of that experience and the substantial part it plays in life among this group of Houstonians. In addition, public programs featuring the tradition bearers who sharedtheir skill, knowledge and expertise were presented as part of the installation.
